Hello! How are you? where are you from?

I was not saying it is all fabulous in Latvia, not at all. But what I am saying that because Latvia is not just sitting on its ass and demanding support from Europe (like Greece does), at least people here from various countries tell me they respect Latvia for that.
I know it is not all great there, I know the situation is hard and the government is hiding behind sweet promises while being lazy to improve things. But the crisis is everywhere, to a greater and lesser extent.

I shall set only one question: Why so many Latvians have left the native  Latvia, if in Latvia so well how you have written? Why you have not remained in Latvia??? Only  not  to take offence. I know the answer to this question. And this answer not so good as it would be desirable....

IamI, I think this will be the case where I will not agree with you. The socialism exactly was the problem. Before socialism there was no higher virtue for Latvians than work. After several decades of "doesn't matter what you do, as long as you are present in your work place you will get paid anyway" that is mostly gone and instead there is quite a nihilistic attitude towards work. Fortunately, not everywhere. However, it is unfair to say that Latvians only are like this. It is in the general nature to do as little as possible to get as much as possible. And if you want to see a country that still lives in that dream world, look no further than Greece. They have had education for free, medicine for free, avoiding taxes like the devil himself... and now they are protesting because the government hasn't the money. From where will this money come? Therefore at least in eyes of EU Latvia has more respect than Greece because Latvia is actually working its ass off to get there, rather than demand billions of euros from EU.
And Walter, you know, stop judging all girls by those poor specimens you manage to acquire. Of course, only those kind of girls will fall for your flashing around with money, cool car and status. I know those type of girls exist but there is none like that among my friends and acquaintances. All the girls and women I know myself are strong, independent, educated and hard working. And if some of them don't have the education they make it up with hard working. And none of them demand expensive presents from their boyfriends or rely on them financially. With your attitude and approach you will never know a proper woman, only those money diggers strutting around in their mini skirts and high heels. And those money diggers are there in any country.

All of you write nonsenses!Anybody from you does not know as people lived at socialism! Who never lived at socialism never will understand it. Do not try at all! You are brought up on ideals of capitalism. And it: everyone struggles for itself(himself), as the wolf. The socialism  teach children to goodness of heart, people were not beggars, all had a work, the medicine was gratuitous, education was gratuitous, with old men  was  respect. You never will understand it...

riga and latvia in general are facing a huge financial crise with banks and properties in bankruptcy.
business in latvia is getting more and more difficult because lavian girls are used to ask men for jewelry clothes and expansive watch although they come from peripherical indistrilisez area with poor social conditions and criminality.
i know some people wearing expansive clothes but without any education class or even money for eating.
