First who said that democracy was the way of living? Most of human beings do no live in democracies and they are not necessary more unhappy that us...Democracy is until now an accident in history of humanity... and when they come to existence, they often slowly turns if not to autocracy, at least to some political system limiting the power of the people...

Otherwise democracy means as u know, power of the demos, people... A real democracy is like in the old Athens, on the Agora, when citizens voted and took directly part in the life of the city..

So no real democracy exists anymore... the closest are the popular voting in Switzerland when citizens can bring directly to the vote (after getting 100000 signatures) a subject that concerns them.... for the best and the worse...
