Agreed. And there are two ways how to make yourself feel better than others. One is to put down the others and the other is to actually be better than the others. The first approach usually is more easy, requires less work, that's why you see so much of it in the pre-election political circus :D

Well, they get postive emotions cause they think other people get offended. I think it's not very right. I get positive emotions when I talk to nomal, nice people on different subjects.

Although it is true that if those people the same as Eric would be happier in their lives, then they wouldn't have the need to offend others or talk bad about people like they do habitually.
