... is why a few people on amigos.lv use
obviously 'fake' photos as their profile photo.
That makes no sense to me. I understand
if you don't have or want to use a real photo,
then just have an avatar or animal or nature
photo or something. Why steal a photo of a
model or movie star to use as your own?

No, no, I just said, that it might as well be Clooney (or any other A-lister) hiding behind an average guy's name and face :D
And what would be the normal comparison? :P
:) comparing me to Clooney! Thanks Ms Verdolde, I'll take it!
Won't tell you what I'm USUALLY compared to :P
Yes, Rob, maybe you're too modest and hiding, but who knows, maybe it's.. erm, lets say.. George Clooney hiding behind a mere mortal's name to be able to live a common person's virtual life :D
(along the lines of Pulp's "Common people"
"..I want to live like common people,
I want to do whatever common people do..")
:) yes, Ms Verdolde, I see what you mean ;)
Or maybe we should just be happy that a famous Hollywood almost-star has graced us with her presence on inbox.lv! I mean really, what were the chances of that!?
Here, now the newest blog is a fresh example of a fake (not only fake pic but also identity).
I KNEW it was someone here...! :)
That is a very cool site, Lina. Thank you for suggesting it!!
I will try to do better giving credit where it is due in the future ;)
Rob, tineye was my suggestion:)
No, I can't claim that honour, I just googled the names which were coming with the photos. It must have been someone else.
About the last sentence ...and Miley Cyrus really DID want to be my best friend :D:D:D
Indeed, Ms Verdolde, wasn't it you who suggested
using tineye.com as a good resource to find photo
sources on the net? just a simple cut-n-paste of an
amigos fake photo into that site's search engine will
reveal the truth :)
or maybe Justin Timberlake really HAS joined amigos!!?
Yes, and not only they use fake photos but also fake identities. I already chased away one guy who claimed to be some obscure US singer, he had published a blog with "his" pictures which all were undoubtedly professional pictures. Quick Google with his name and I saw that indeed he was taking the identity of some "celebrity".
But indeed, many pictures are too professional to be real "mugshots"
haha, Lina I think could also be correct.
just more entertainment I guess... :)
They want people to write them compliments. Or they just have fun and laugh at people who think they're real))
just like me!
maybe you're right...
because they have a face only a mother can love.
