Aiga, I had biked in winter before but I was soooo horrible in that I always ended falling, once with a nice HP logo on my butt But now, and I can suggest to anyone not feeling very sure on icy roads with bike, now I have spiked tires and have all the grip and power I wish for!
As for swimming - make sure you have somebody helping near you. My dad taught me by first letting me feel that the water is able to support me.
