I don't speak one word of Latvian.  So I have to try other ways... but at least people are trying, right?  Otherwise we would never have an opportunity to speak with others from other countries... unless we travel there.

Non-verbal communications are used extensively to avoid misunderstandings when speaking. As these are not there in written English, the same sentence can often be understood in different opposite ways. Even putting a "comma" in the wrong place can change the meaning.. Try doing a google search on "eats shoots and leaves"
